OLD DAT 4mm Tape recovery
I have a bunch of 4mm DAT tapes that contain backups from some legacy system, i have set up a server and an old tape drive to read the tapes, problem i have now is i have no idea what they were written in, i have Veritas on a server (i thought a good choice) but no joy there. Is there any software that can determin what program was used to create a backup on a DAT tape? , yours hopin
can you see any of the file backup extensions; not the individual files?
no cant see anything, but i know there is data on the tapes, veritas just tells me each one is bad media, but i guess its coz it cant read them, as they will have been backed up with some other software i suppose
